Another interesting soaring day at Bloemfontein

Footage of a memorable glider flight filmed by Jan van der Hoek of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, in a ASH25 flown by Dick Bradley, director of Soaring Safaris. The flight took us from Bloemfontein to Koffiefontein in Free State, but the way back became blocked by an imposing storm front.

This provided excellent soaring and front-row views of hail, lightning and multiple rainbows.

This is footage that was put together by Francois Caffe, an extraordinary young French pilot who spent the season with us which included a visit to the SA team training camp at Tswalu Kalahari Reserve where most of the low passes were filmed.

The glider playing a main part is the Jonker Sailplane JS1, from South Africa.
